A cook is a vital member of the hotel kitchen team, responsible for preparing and cooking meals according to the hotel’s menu and quality standards. Their duties include following recipes accurately, ensuring food is cooked to the right temperature, and presenting dishes attractively. Cooks must have good culinary skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, especially during Greece’s busy summer season when hotels serve a high volume of guests.
In addition to cooking, a cook is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized workspace, handling ingredients safely, and sometimes assisting with inventory and basic food preparation tasks. They work closely with the head chef, sous chef, and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and consistent quality throughout service.
